After the successful launch of the third CROSSTALKS book 'In Sickness and in Health' - CROSSTALKS launched the follow-up project on health "Optimal Partnerships through Transparency" on June 19th. This new project wants to engage all stakeholders in health care to create more transparency. A first workshop elaborated on "The Value Of Data Sharing".

Programme: 

9:30 Setting the Scene by Erik Schokkaert (KULeuven, Center for Economic Studies, Belgium)
How can transparency contribute to better incentives for the different stakeholders (incl the government)? What are the effects that can be expected from more and better information for the patients? As well economic as ethical aspects will be elaborated on.

10:15 State of the Art by Dalia Idar (Clinical Computerization Department in the Division of Health Information Technology, Maccabi, Israel)
Presentation of a case study with a different and most advanced system in which stakeholders can collaborate in a constructive way. What are the advantages emerging from a better transparency? What are the hurdles?

11:15 – 12: 00 Into the Future by François Daue (Itinera Institute, Belgium)
Where do we in Belgium want to go? Le défi? What are the options and what are the consequences, the ethical concerns and what are possible incentives to responsibilize the stakeholders? Clinical research is declining in Belgium: open innovation is linked to open data sharing, taking informed decisions...
